Rational Numbers

I have been thinking from long time for I should go through the basics of Mathematics. Even though we started learning maths from childhood, in the environment where I grew up maths starts with nothing but how to use them. Like addition, subtraction, etc.. but never really learnt why do we need these number systems. Why these number systems exist? How these number systems developed !!. Why Decimal system why not some other system? How did we decide to follow decimal system everywhere when we may have better number systems? ( May be school thought all those things and I never cared to understand it ) So I picked up 8th standard CBSE maths book. Now I am in quest for finding what is Rational Number? why do we need it?

After going through couple of links I now recall school did teach everything to understand why we need rational numbers :) This link explains same with good examples.

Robo Soccer

Sunday I went to barber shop to have haircut. Luckily I came across august 22 issue of Outlook business which featured the Robotic industry in silicon valley here is the link for it. Interesting thing I found there was about Robotic industry in India, and more fascinating was Robo soccer. Let us keep aside whatever robots he has give there and think about building Soccer player on our own. What are the features I would like to include in my Soccer player? Certainly I would like to make it look like Human being in action.
1) it should be able to make quick moves.
2) recognize ball.
3) able to balance on any part of the body.
4) shoot the ball.
5) pass the ball.
6) stop the ball.
7) run with ball.
8) Certainly I don't want it to think much

well those are very complicated If its human shape Lets change the shape and think. Assume its round in shape. Still we can do above things. or
Lets turn on the tv and tune into the sports channel.

Interrupt Sequence Generators

Before I begin writing on interrupt generators I would like to quote an anecdote about relay project that I tried to do when I was in college, We had organized quiz competition in our college on behalf of IEEE, and wanted buzzer or some kind of circuit to know who first raised their hand. I had come up with a small priority decoder, made up of simple gates assembled on bread board. Circuit connected to simple 5 push-buttons as input and 5 bulbs as output. whenever any button is pressed it will glow the corresponding bulb and block the circuit so that no other bulb is activated. At the end we could not deploy it at the competition because of multiple reasons like safety, reset etc.
Above circuit was plane combinational circuit but We can extrapolate the example to explain what are interrupts. Consider processor is doing normal calculations, whenever you press that button You want system to capture current time and flash it on the board. Signal that indicated button was pressed is nothing but interrupt. In POWER architecture we have three types of Interrupts.
  • Non-critical
  • critical
  • Machine check
Well we will not discuss about Specific interrupt here. Rather we will discuss about Generating Sequences in System verilog to test different scenarios of interrupt.

Will be continued and edited .......

How obliged Am I to attend friends wifes brothers wedding?

well after many days I tried to draw those Unions and sets diagram. I was just thinking if i should attend one of my friends wife's brother wedding and I got confused in which category do I fall, in known close circle or bla bla bla.. this is what i got

Consider Y in the figure is my friend ( in crossed area ) and X is his Spouse. Both are highly obliged to attend each others brother's wedding. Y has friends Y1, Y2, Y3 and X'1, X'2, X'3 are their corresponding spouses, same is true for X group. Since Y1,Y2,Y3 are friend of Y, there is complete chance they know Y's brother B, they are also obliged to attend the marriage. Hence their spouses. All these results in two main groups, A and B. So people in Group A need not attend B's marriage except X and People in Group B need not attend A's marriage. To say in another way except X and Y all other are exclusive to each other So conclusion is I need not attend marriage compulsorily. I don't have work is not it :P

Change the way we live

I Love fictions movies, these are the imaginations of the creative mind which always help us to see the world beyond existence, to think beyond limitations. Its same fiction mind which imagined man will fly one day, man will ride the metal, man will step on the moon. From those days to till day we have seen the world around has changed so much but still we have so much to do. we still remain millionth of dot in the big universe. I still wonder despite so much advancement we cant make blind see, cant save people when terrorist attack, cant predict weather, still we take hours to travel from one place to another, and people die from cancer. I read these lines somewhere, ( though not related to above topic :) )
"There are basically two types of people: Those who think that today's digital technologies are actually intelligent (and are therefore conspiring to make us humans look dumb) and those who know that these technologies are quite stupid and are basically standing by, waiting for us to make them do something interesting."
